Parents
Here are some discussion questions centered around the message from MERGE this week. My prayer is that parents will take these questions and use them as an opportunity to “dig deeper” with their students. We believe a student’s number one spirtual influence should be his or her parents, and we are going to begin introducing you to resources to try to better equip you to do so. If you have more ideas that could possibly help you, please feel free to email them to me or post them on the comment section below. Thanks, Cody.
Digging Deeper
(Questions designed for a conversation between parents and their students. Expect and be okay with awkwardness! Familiarize yourself with the subject at hand by reviewing the Merge Rewind or listening to the entire message on the Merge podcast at iheartmerge.com/#/podcast)
For Merge 05.04.11
- Why do you think bad things happen to good people? Are people good?
- Do you think that God causes bad things, allows bad things, or neither? Explain.
- Have you ever experienced something that hurt in the beginning but helped in the end? If so, talk about it. If not, what do you think would be an example of this?
Parents: listen to all of our Merge messages on the Merge podcast at www.iheartmerge.com/#/podcast. You can hear everything that your student hears so that you can have more effective spiritual conversations.
Please let me know if these help. You can leave comments on this page, or email me at cody@experiencehillcrest.com

Thanks Cody, I know Lucy is still too young for us to have conversations like this right now, but time is passing quickly and it won’t be much longer. These questions will help as I try to talk with her as she’s growing.

Love this idea Cody! Hope parents take advantage of such a great opportunity to interact with their teen about issues of faith and life!
